I knew that there was a reason I never venture over to the West Side -
and it's not just because it used to be my old tripping face stomping
grounds - well maybe that has a little bit to do with it, but really
though it's like a whole 'nother universe over there, though just double
digit City blocks away from the cozy confines of the LES.
The setup and venue for this hipper-than-thou BRMC show was just
ludicrous - keeping "general admission" (i.e., losers) outside online
for 2 hours and no amount of mermaids splashing around in fish poop
infested tanks can make up for that.
Next time I am SO going with my instincts, which screamed for me to be
at BSS at N6 instead - which no doubt would've been a better crowd
(except for my peeps in attendance here) and more enjoyable music solely
due to the non-claustrophobia non-fog machine factor.
Nothing against BRMC, they are great at what they do and the new songs
are outstanding, and the leather always looks good, it's just that this
practice of having "special" shows at chichi clubs will hopefully go out
of style faster than the trucker hat and mullet look.
